Welcome to the new BG&E website
The new BG&E website is live, with rides, news, gallery photos, member information and club updates all in one place.
The new BG&E website is live, and it is now much more than a replacement for the old site.
It gives the club a proper home for ride information, member guidance, news, photos, joining details and committee updates. Facebook is still where the day to day chat happens, but the website is now the place to find the important information without scrolling through posts.
What is on the site
Upcoming rides: The Rides page shows upcoming Sunday and Thursday rides, including date, distance, elevation and route links where available. There is also a calendar view and a Google Calendar subscription link, so you can add club rides to your own calendar.
Sunday and Thursday ride guides: The ride pages explain what to expect, where we meet, how the groups work and how late changes are handled. Sunday social rides and the Thursday evening gang ride are included too.
Club news: News posts now live on the website, with the latest two pulled onto the homepage below upcoming rides. This gives us somewhere to publish reminders, announcements and event updates that deserve to be easier to find than a social media post.
Gallery: The Gallery has been rebuilt with the club photos from the old site. Captions and descriptions can be improved over time, but the images are now preserved and easy to browse.
Members area: The Members page now includes the rider guide, club rules, safety notes, communication calls, insurance guidance and constitution information.
Committee page: The Committee page lists the current committee roles, non-portfolio helpers, AGM timing and where meeting minutes are published.
Joining and membership: The Join section explains how to try a ride, how membership works, what it includes and how to contact the club.
Cadence Café: The Cadence Café page explains the club’s summer charity events and our support for Force Cancer Charity.
Social links: Facebook, Instagram and Strava links are all available from the homepage, so riders can find the right places for updates, photos and ride tracking.
The site is also faster, clearer on mobile and easier to navigate. If you are new to BG&E, you should be able to find where we meet, what ride is coming up, what to bring and how to get in touch. If you are already a member, the rules, rider guide and club information are now all in one place.
If you spot anything wrong, missing or out of date, please contact the club.
