Annual membership is open to all. Come on a guest ride first — no commitment needed.
Try before you join
You’re welcome to come on a guest ride before committing to membership. Just turn up at Countess Wear Beefeater on a Sunday at 8:30am, introduce yourself, and ride with us. You can do this a couple of times before joining.
Annual membership
Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December each year. The fee covers your Cycling UK affiliation (public liability insurance, legal advice, and discounts), plus access to club events, the member WhatsApp group, and the right to display club colours.
To join: Contact us with your name, email, and a bit about your cycling experience. We’ll send you a membership form and payment details.
What membership includes
- Cycling UK affiliation — third-party public liability insurance on club rides, plus personal accident cover (optional add-on)
- Club kit — access to club jersey, gilet, and bibs at cost price from our kit supplier
- Member WhatsApp group — last-minute ride changes, weather updates, and general cycling chat
- Cadence Café — invitations to summer charity events
- Club Strava segment — join the club Strava for ride tracking and segment competition
Cycling UK
BG&E is affiliated with Cycling UK. Your membership includes Cycling UK membership, which provides public liability insurance for all club rides, a legal helpline, and discounts at bike shops and online retailers.
